Peggy Resnick was born and grew up in Akron, Ohio. From an early age she knew she wanted to be a painter. All her waking moments were filled with thoughts of painting.
Actually no.
Peggy had no idea about the visual arts until she left Ohio for college. At Washington University in St. Louis she took a remarkable drawing course with Mr. Douglas in the Fine Arts department. That class changed her life and convinced her she was in the wrong field (English). After completing her degree (in English Literature), Peggy moved to New York to study art at The Cooper Union. There she found that painting could be her way to explore and find meaning in the world.
Peggy still lives and works in New York.
